Aquarium fish fall ill with many different diseases, including Pseudomoniasis. It is not excluded that the causative agent of fin rot with food and soil. The occurrence of this peptic ulcer can be prevented thanks to a ten-day quarantine of soil and plants in the tank. Simply called fin rot.
Symptoms of the disease
It is characterized by the microscopic almost imperceptible lowering of the fins of the infected fish, their shortening, as well as the decay and destruction of the fins. This rot begins with a slight turbidity of a white-blue color at the edges of the fins. Then, the radial fin tissues decay, and in the juveniles, the caudal fins also. The death of fish is inevitable at the stage of the appearance of white ulcerative lesions at the base of diseased fins, which subsequently develop into red sores. During the initial stages of pseudomoniasis, the disease is considered completely treatable. In fact, young individuals fall ill with pseudomonosis, and often this leads to mass extinction - less often adult fish die from it. This disease is caused by aquatic bacteria Pseudomonas fluorescens and it is infectious.
When treating pseudomonosis at an early stage, and in later stages, unfortunately, it makes no sense, you must first move the fish to a separate small reservoir without soil and vegetation. Next, add a solution of potassium permanganate with a dosage of 0.5 g per 10 l of water and keep the infected fish in it twice a quarter of an hour. Also in the treatment, the drug is used, the main purple K - for 10 l of water 0.002 g and the fish is kept in this solution once for four days. For a general aquarium, there are recipes for treating this disease: Bicillin-5 is added at 500,000 units per 100 liters of fluid. This treatment procedure should be repeated six times every day; Chlortetracycline hydrochloride is added 1.5 g of the drug per 100 l of water four times, seven days. It is highly recommended that you disinfect the aquarium and all its equipment at frequent intervals. It is noted that the recovery period of fin tissue in ill fish directly depends on the degree of their decay and its age. Do not forget about the conditions of feeding and keeping aquarium fish.
