White Spur Frog as a Pet
The silent inhabitant of the aquarium, the white Spur frog, has established itself as a pet.
The color of albino varies from milky to yellow. The frog has many names. One of them is a white monkey. During a meal, she amusingly grabs the food with her front legs and pushes it into her mouth, that is, she practically eats with her hands. From this, the amphibian got its non-standard monkey nickname.
Spur-like appearance is unpretentious in care. Five to ten liters of water with small islands of land is enough for one head. It is desirable to turn the habitat into an aquaterrarium so that the pet can periodically half protrude from the water. By the way, the frog can do without water for up to a day, after which it dries in the literal sense of the word, turning into a mummy.
If an unexpected event happened, the frog jumped out of the aquarium and spent several hours in the room, that's okay. Dip the animal back into the aquatic environment, it will move away.
Soil for the aquarium should be selected so that the frog has the opportunity to hide in artificial houses (under boulders, shells of mollusks).
Plants must be well fixed, as the sudden movement of the pet can pull the greens out of the ground.
Filter, air aeration, artificial lighting are desirable, but not required. The animal does fine without additional equipment and comfort.
The food of the frog is fresh and frozen: bloodworms, earthworms, corpetra, daphnia. Despite mobility, the white monkey is prone to obesity. It is better to feed a pet 2 times a week.
The fry of all fish and guppy type specimens should be kept away from the predator. A lover of food for one night is able to leave the aquarium without fin neighbors.
Amphibian life expectancy is on average 15 years. Adult growth - 6-8 cm.
Children like a silent pet. Caring for it is easier than for aquarium fish. There are cases when the albino used to eat exclusively from the hands of the owners. However, there are no reliable facts proving the possibility of taming an amphibian.
Conclusion: the Spur frog is an ideal pet for lazy hosts.
